Every month, publisher members of IPC recommend titles for a specific theme around which booksellers can build displays or build up inventory. This mix of frontlist and backlist titles helps to diversify stock and distinguish indie bookstores from their algorithm-based online competitors. Twice every year (in June and September), booksellers can earn a $500 prize and additional coop for featuring playlist titles in a physical display.

October 2023: Hispanic Heritage & Spooky Halloween Titles

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Friday, September 15 and ends on Sunday, October 15. Independent publisher members of IPC have created a fantastic playlist of titles to meet your community's needs! And of course, October promotions have to involve the creepy, the eerie, and the occult... To that end, publishers have also put together a list of their top spooky titles for your Halloween displays. Click here for an edelweiss list of titles celebrating Hispanic Heritage, and click here for for an edelweiss list of spooky Halloween titles. Browse both of this month's playlists below!

September 2023: Back to School & Breakout Books

Help your community start off the new school year right with titles that will open minds, reveal new discoveries, and broaden our experience of the world around us. Publishers have created not one but TWO new playlists -- one specifically for those interested in learning new tricks (our Back to School playlist), and the other celebrating new voices in literature (our Breakouts & Debuts playlist). There's something for everyone on each of these lists to help round out your displays and make sure your customers can always find something new in your bookstore.

August 2023: Women in Translation & Beach Reads

Indie lit is heating up! Check out these hot titles celebrating women in translation, as well as some page-turners perfect for reading with your toes in the sand. Click here for the Women in Translation edelweiss collection, and click here for the Indie Press Beach Reads edelweiss collection.

July 2023:  Climate Change Awareness

If it looks a little hazy outside your window right now, your customers might want to learn more about the ecological factors contributing to record-high temperatures and expansive drought leading to prolonged fire seasons, as well as increasingly volatile and violent weather patterns causing more frequent catastrophic storms and flooding. For those curious and conscientious customers, indie publishers have put together this list of insightful titles examining the causes, effects, and potential solutions to the current climate situation.
